Retinitis Pigmentosa - 'Our Charity'

Retinitis Pigmentosa is a progressive disease of the retina for which there is currently no treatment and no cure.

It usually shows itself in childhood or early adolescence as night blindness, then tunnel vision develops; eventually the sufferer is left with little or no sight at all.

The British Retinitis Pigmentosa Society, a member of the Association Of Medical Research Charities, is a group of volunteers dedicated to finding a cure for this terrible disease. They are a registered charity (number 271729).

The research mainly takes place at The Rayne Institute at St. Thomas's Hospital in London, and every penny raised goes directly to them.

If you'd like to make a donation, please let Wendy or Myself have it. Alternatively send it directly to The British Retinitis Pigmentosa Society at :

P.O. Box 350.
Buckingham
MK18 5EL

Helpline telephone number : 01280 860363

Cheques should be made payable to 'The British Retinitis Pigmentosa Society'.

You can find out more about Retinitis Pigmentosa by connecting to their Website.

PS - Margaret has 'discovered' someone who will buy used postage stamps and foreign coins of any country and denomination. RP will then be the beneficiary of all monies collected.

If you have any, then please bring them along on club night and give them to Margaret (or Wendy if Margaret's not around and we'll pass them on). Alternatively, please contact us and we'll let you have an address to post them to.

Please try and help - it's a really worthwhile cause.

Thanks.
