Every Wednesday night (directions) from 7:00pm to 10:30pm. The hall has its own off-road car park
The format is basically the same for both venues. The first hour is exclusively for beginners, although anyone is welcome to join in - many of the dances covered here will be older dances still on the circuit which are known (?) to more experienced dancers but not perhaps to the newer dancers. We also try and inject some of the appropriate newer dances into this session, as well as teaching some of the 'after eight' (see below) dances a couple of weeks after the 'after eights' have had them so that the beginners can dance more when they stay all evening.
We now periodically run a 'pre-beginner' session at the Wednesday evening evening venue (St James Hall) which is for ½ an hour before the beginner session when we can devote some 1:1 time on absolute basics to help newcomers to line dancing to get up to speed. This is only run 'by arrangement' with new dancers - if we don't have any dancers who are in need of this time, we don't run the session and the evening begins with the beginner's class which starts at 7pm.
After the beginners comes the 'After Eights' session for intermediates and above (8 to 10:30) where we have free dancing, requests, reviews of dances (new or old) as requested from the floor and also we try and teach some of the newer/more current dances just hitting the circuit. Basically, anything goes - it's your club - Wendy and I just run it on your behalf!!
